BEAR010 RESET* – JUICY
The first ever release on E.A.R came from Leeds homegrown talent Reset*. A slow-burning disco chugger, it delivers layer upon layer of clever electronic sounds with the dreamy vocals coming in just when you think it’s all over. The remix comes courtesy of LTJXperience, knocking up the levels a notch to make this dancefloor ready.

BEAR009 MUG presents “Shadows” featuring Stella
The second offering from E.A.R comes in the form of “Shadows”, a moody Balearic record from Music for Freaks boss Justin Harris under his new guise as MUG. Close your eyes and you can hear the waves crashing onto the beach at sunset – this tune had arms in the air at many a festival last Summer. On the flip, Chris Duckenfield’s Popular Peoples Front makes you feel like he’s kept true to the original until the huge clonking acid bassline comes in. Epic!

BEAR080 The Dead Rose Music Company – Am I Still The One
The 3rd E.A.R release came from producer de jour The Dead Rose Music Company. A beautiful disco groover which is looped up to the hilt whilst keeping a real 80’s feel. Rob Mello’s No Ears remix raises the tempo and gives it some serious cowbell action making this one to run onto the dancefloor to.

BEAR 070 Ryan Shaw – Lovin’
The 4th release on the label makes Team E.A.R feel like a proud mother! Why? Because this is our very own crew member, Ryan Shaw’s, debut production and man! Did it fly off the shelves! Sampling the velvety vocals of Stephanie Mills, you cannot help but swing your hips to this total disco groove. The remix is provided by the wizard that is Pete Herbert who sprinkles a large dose of uptempo sunshiney happiness into our most successful release to date. If you have one of the 300 limited edition copies, you are the proud owner of a collectors item as all of them have now sold out!

BEAR006 Justin Harris presents Arthur Russell – Moon
Release 5 is the most talked about so far on the imprint. Justin Harris takes the unmistakable vocals of Arthur Russell to produce this heady slice of atmospheric house. On the other side, Rob Mello injects his trademark deep house blueprint to give us a bass filled remix with oodles of dancefloor potential.
Geeky E.A.R trivia for all fact-fans: If you look at the artwork closely, you will notice what is usually a hatched orb on the left of the label has been cunningly transformed into a crescent moon especially for this release…

BEAR005 PBR Streetgang – C.R.A.I.G
Friends of E.A.R, PBR Streetgang, are hot property at the moment. Having put themselves on the map as one of the strongest DJing and production duos from Leeds, Tom Thorpe & Bonar Bradberry have firmly proved that they are no one-trick ponies. C.R.A.I.G is the perfect demonstration of the versatility of this dynamic team. A deep & dirty bassline and a harmonica threading it’s way through this midnight groove make this record conjure images of swaying sweaty bodies losing themselves in darkened club corners. Brilliant! The remixes come from another superb DJ & producer – Toby Tobias. The Tracky remix gives it a contemporary house feel, whilst the Paranoid Dub mix takes it that tiny bit deeper.

Joshua Iz Presents “Dubwise”
We here at E.A.R HQ consider this record to be one of our favourite releases, not only for it’s amazing quality sound on vinyl, but also for the genre transcending vibe that this track displays. We have had many a debate trying to put a label on what type of music this is. Is it hip-hop? Funk? Soul? House? Or perhaps a bit of all of the above? Who cares – it’s one that we are particularly proud of.
First up is Magnetron – a funky yet intelligent masterpiece that could come straight out of an Acid Jazz collection. But wait! Those tweaky electronic sounds give this record an edge that brings it right up to date.

Next up – Sueños. Which for those of you whose Spanish is rusty, it means “dreams”. And boy, is this dreamy. Sexy but sublime, this has already had a good old airing on the Pacha terrace and at festivals all over the world. Have a listen and you will realise why.
Joshua Iz presents Dubwise – Sueños
Both tracks have been remixed my the Italian house master Nick Simoncino, giving them an extremely sophisticated classic feel. The protho mix in particular has the 90’s stamped all over it. All four of these tunes epitomise the Summer. Let them define yours!
