Record Stores We Dig

So as a vinyl only imprint, we only saw it fit here at E.A.R HQ to do a little series on the record stores that really float our boat.

All our fellow vinyl junkies out there know the joy that can only be felt from thumbing through wax on a Saturday afternoon and taking home a bag full to hammer on yer gramophone over the next few days/weeks/years.

Our first subject is PHONICA RECORDS – spiritual home of E.A.R’s own Ryan Shaw.

Phonica is a London based vinyl emporium selling a wide range of genre. It is well known as a fantastic place to lose a few hours flicking for the latest gems whilst in London town.

Instantly recognisable from the street by the egg-shaped chair in the window, it has a reputation as being the best in design and best overall service.  On top of this Phonica definitely has one of the best selections of tunes ranging from hard-hitting electro and minimal techno to hard-to-find disco classics and dub reggae represses.

You will never have to go home with something you haven’t heard as there are 8 listening stations in store.  The staff are well informed and approachable making the whole experience relaxed and professional.

But this ain’t just a store for the DJ – oh no!  Although the store has a good selection of high end headphones, DJ accessories and record bags, it also stocks CDs, T-shirts and other goodies.

As anyone who has visited will tell you, a day spent at Phonica Records is a pure pleasure.  However, don’t just believe us – the next time you’re in London Town, go dip your toe in and see for yourself.
